I do some freelance blog work and I’m worried about two things – clients noticing it sounds robotic, and detectors flagging it. I still want to use AI to work faster. How do you all keep it sounding human without redoing everything from scratch?
The fix isn’t a magic ‘humanizer’ tool, it’s editing like a human. I read it out loud, cut every sentence that sounds like a corporate press release, add one personal aside or specific detail per section, and vary sentence length on purpose. AI writes too evenly – real people are lumpy. Ten minutes of that beats any detector-dodging trick.
The ‘real people are lumpy’ line just unlocked something for me. So the goal isn’t perfect prose, it’s intentionally imperfect?
Will exactly. I also always start the draft from my own bullet points and an opinion, then let AI expand it. When the ideas are genuinely mine, the writing carries my fingerprints and reads human automatically. Clients have never once questioned it and I write triple what I used to.
